Game Recordings

Game Recordings is a New York based record label which had a small amount of fame when some of its artists were featured on Grand Theft Auto III. Game Radio was responsible for boosting the careers of then unknown Royce Da 5'9", Agallah, Sean Price, Pretty Ugly, Black Rob, Nature and JoJo Pellegrino. Game recordings is also known for the "Game Girls", or "Hip Hop Honeys" who feature on all the promotional singles and maxi cd's they release. Game Recordings released Game Tight in in 2002, a compilation album of their finest material. 50 Cent featured on the album, on the Pretty Ugly song "Hit Em' Up".

The labels CEO is Jonathan "Shecky Green" Shecter the co-founder of The Source magazine, the former head of the company was Eric "Ric Riggler" Rhea an A&R Exec, Game's first release was Lord Digga's "My Flow is Tight".

Game released three full length albums, two by Royce Da 5'9" (Rock City and Rock City Version 2.0), its third release was Game Tight, a "very best of" album. Game was also set to release 8-Off Agallah's First album "Imagine Your Life" although the album never saw the light of day.

Game also provided Rockstar Games with songs for the Midnight Club 2 soundtrack.

Game Recordings was declared defunct as a record label in 2005 and CEO Shecky Green only made and promoted the Hip Hop Honeys DVD series however, in 2007 Royce Da 5'9" released his single "Hit Em/Ding" through Game Recordings.

Although Game Recordings is now defunct as a record label, an artist known as Keith From Up The Block is represented by Game. Also, the Game Las Vegas site is still in function, as well as Hip Hop Honeys.

In 2008 Game released two CD's by former artist Royce Da 5'9", the first was a new Royce Da 5'9" album entitled "Lost & Found", the album features rare and unrelased tracks that were recorded whilst he was on the label [http://hiphopsite.com/product/show/id/9833] and the second is entitled "Rock City. Version 3.0 which is a mix of Royce's first two albums Rock City & Rock City Version 2.0 [http://hiphopsite.com/product/show/id/9727] .
