Sam Barrett (Australian swimmer)

Sam Barrett (15th July, 1989) graduated from Iona College in 2006. He is well known for swimming, competing for his school, state, and country..

He won his first national age championship in 2003 at the age of 14 in the 50 meter freestyle. He went on to win both the 100 and 50 meter freestyle in 2004 and 2005. In January 2005 he was selected in the Australian Youth Olympic Team and won the 50 meter freestyle. Barrett recently won his fourth consecutive 50 meter freestyle Age Championship and said, "It's all due to the loving support from my coach Rob Hindmarsh that made this possible, I love him like a father". He also stated, "I really appreciate the support from all of my family, especially Jonny B." Barret is currently trialling for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
