- Harry J. Lincoln
Harry J. Lincoln (1878-1937) was the composer of many a march and ragtime pieces, such as the "Bees Wax Rag" (1911), the "
Lincoln Highway " two step march (1921), and the "Repasz Band March" (1929). He was credited the work of authors by other names (and vice versa). There are three theories to this.*These names are either pseudonyms or names of relatives of his close friend and publisher, Ruth Vandersloot|Ruth Person Vandersloot.
*He could not afford medical payments for a supposed illness, so he sold his works to others.
*He arranged or published under his own publication company, these pieces written by other artists.
Some of these names are "Charles/Chas. Sweeley", "Abe Losch", "Carl Loveland", and "J. C. Halls".
