Theodoros Roussopoulos ( _gr. Θεόδωρος Ρουσόπουλος) (born
13 September 1963 ) is a Greek politician. He has been Minister of State and Government Spokesman since 2004.Roussopoulos was born in
Kyparissia .He studied at the Laboratory of Professional Journalism (Εργαστήρι Επαγγελματικής Δημοσιογραφίας), before continuing with a course in Journalism at the "Oxford Academy". He is a graduate of the
Hellenic Open University , where he attended the Department for the Study of Greek Culture of the Faculty of Humanities.His journalism career begin in 1984 the in the left-wing daily
Eleftherotypia , where he remained until 1995. During this time, he also contributed to the monthlyElle magazine. From 1989 to 1999, he worked at theMega Channel station, particularly on the "7+7" programme. From 1987 to 1989, he contributed toAthena 98.4 FM radio station and, in 1999, toStar Channel , a television station. He is the recipient of an award from the Botsi Foundation as well from the Union of Turkish Journalists for the Best European Television Programme'.His political career began in 2000 with his appointment as New Democracy press officer. After the 2004 general election, he was appointed to his current position by incoming prime minister
Kostas Karamanlis .As Minister of State, Roussopoulos is responsible for the Secretariat General of Communication and the Secretariat General of Information, which, since its abolition in 2004, incorporated the functions of Ministry of the Press and Mass Media. He is married to the journalist
