Krzysztof Matyjaszewski (born April 8, 1950 in
Konstantynów Łódzki ) is aPolish-American chemist .In 1985 he received his
PhD from theTechnical University of Łódź . He spent 2 years (1984-1985) at theFrench National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the same time he was offered a position of visiting professor at theSorbonne . In 1985 he moved to the US to continue his scientific career at theCarnegie Mellon University , where since 1995 he has been a J.C. Warner Professor of Natural Sciences. An expert onpolymer s, author of many articles, he holds severalhonorary degree s and is in the Top 10 of most often cited chemists worldwide.
