Faithful Brethren

Faithful Brethren

The 'faithful brethren' was a secret society that emerged out of the city of Basra, Mesopotamia (now Iraq) in the Persian Gulf. The society was formed circa 950 AD and practiced Alchemy amongst other forms of learning and religion.

Beliefs

They accepted the Greek theory that everything was made from the four 'elements', earth, air, water and fire.
