Patrick Clarke (born October 26,1965) is an award-winning Irish filmmaker and actor.
Dublin -born Patrick Clarke’s career in film began in 1994 when he took up acting studies atDavid Mamet 'sAtlantic Theater Company in New York City. During that period Clarke kept himself busy by appearing in more than a dozen student and independent short films including "The Last Actor" and "Fall from Grace".Inspired by New York’s independent film culture, Clarke wrote and produced his first feature, "Beyond the Pale" (1999), which was a modest commercial success in Ireland, Australia and the UK and won awards at the Houston and Arizona film festivals (2000). Clarke’s performance in "Beyond the Pale" led to roles in "The Magnificent Ambersons" (2002) for NBC and the comedy "Stay Until Tomorrow" (2004) which was developed through the
Sundance Institute .In July 2006 Clarke began work on the feature length thriller "Anton". The film, which stars
Gerard McSorley , is set in 1970’sCavan , Dublin andParis . Expected release date March 17, 2008. On December 9, 2007, Clarke filmed the music video for the theme song entitled 'One' for 'Anton', with notable performersJohn Illsley (Dire Straits ) andPaul Brady .Clarke also starred in the Irish feature "Shattered" (2007) and the feature length documentary "The Extra Mile" (2007).
