"Spectamen semireticulatum" is a small deepwater sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Trochidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand, extending to The Snares and the Auckland Islands.

Habitat

This deepwater top shell lives at depths of between 90 and 185 m.

hell description

The shell is similar to "Spectamen plicatulum" but not so depressed, with six primary spirals on the spire-whorls, compared with four in "Spectamen plicatulum", and a narrower umbilicus, only one fourth the diameter of the base.

The shell height is up to 3.2 mm, and the width is up to 5 mm.
