"Spectamen meridianum" is a small deepwater sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Trochidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the east coast of Northland in the North Island of New Zealand, extending to the Chatham Rise.

Habitat

This deepwater top shell lives at depths of between 185 and 660 m.

hell description

The shell is , with a rather elevated spire, and almost smooth, except for a plain ridge bordering the rather narrow deeply perspective umbilicus.

The external shell coloration is shining buff, slightly greenish iridescent.

The shell height is up to 4.5 mm, and the width is up to 5.5 mm.
