- James Kazini
Maj. Gen. (ret.) James Kazini is the former chief of land forces of the
Uganda People's Defence Force , and is a nephew of the current presidentYoweri Museveni . He personally led the UPDF in Operation Iron Fist against the Lord's Resistance Army from 2002-2003. He was suspended by President Museveni and stated that he was being sent to a war college, but it was widely suspected that he was suspended after allegations by theUnited Nations and theRwanda n government that Kazini was plundering resources from the easternDemocratic Republic of the Congo during theIturi conflict . He was replaced by Maj. Gen.Katumba Wamala as commander of the UPDF in the Congo.He had precipitated the Ituri conflict when he had ignored the protests of the RCD-K and appointed a
