The other four public middle schools in Woodbridge Township School District are Avenel Middle School, Fords Middle School, Iselin Middle School, and Woodbridge Middle School.
Colonia Middle School is the Home of the Patriots led by Principal Cynthia Lagunovitch and Vice Principal Rita Saylor.

Activities
There are several opportunities for students to get involved outside of the classroom at Colonia Middle School. Extracurricular activities include, sports such as basketball, football, soccer, handball, and volleyball, Chorus, Drama Club, Musical Production (the school musical.), Student Council, Fitness Club, Math Club (one for each class level), Newspaper Club, Reading and Writing Club, Scenery Club, World Language Club, Kids for Kindness Club, and Yearbook Club.[2]
Publications
Colonia Middle School's newspaper is called The CMS Press and an annual yearbook is also published featuring the highlights of the school year.
