Cantonal and University Library of Lausanne

The Cantonal and University Library ("Bibliotheque cantonale et universitaire de Lausanne") was founded in the 16th century and has become one of the most important public libraries in Switzerland. [ [http://www.studyabroad.purdue.edu/programs/flyer.cfm?flyer=127 BCU (in English)] ] The University of Lausanne was founded in 1537; [ [http://www.unil.ch/central/page43591_en.html Université de Lausanne - Yesterday and today ] ] and the library collection has evolved over the centuries to meet the changing needs of the institution's seven faculties -- theology, law, arts, social and political science, economics and business administration, science, and medicine.
