Wichita State University

Seaman was the assistant football coach on October 2, 1970 -- the day of the Wichita State University football team plane crash. Wichita State was using two planes to transport its team to Utah State University for a football game when one of the planes (named "Gold") crashed. Coach Seaman told the football players and coaches on the "Black" plane shortly after arrival in Logan, Utah. Bob Seaman was named the 30th head college football coach for the Wichita State University Shockers located in Wichita, Kansasand he held that position for three seasons, from 1971 until 1973.His overall coaching record at Wichita State was 13 wins, 20 losses, and 0 ties. This ranks him 11th at Wichita State in terms of total wins and 22nd at Wichita State in terms of winning percentage.
