Lothair (clipper)

Lothair (clipper)

"Lothair" was an iron-hulled clipper ship of 794 tons, built in 1869 by William Walker at Rotherhithe for their own shipping business. In 1873, she was purchased by Killick, Martin & Co. and sailed to ports like London, New York, Yokohama and Hong Kong.

In 1885 it was sold to William Bowen, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, then to G. Buccelli & D. in 1891 Loero, Genoa and finally in 1905 to F.G. Piaggio, Callao. Lothair sailed on until about 1910 and presumed lost at sea.
