Kirby Minter (born 1930, in Durant,
Oklahoma ) is a retired Americanbasketball player. Minter graduated from Durant High School in 1947, and has recently been announced to be in the Durant Athletic Hall of Fame. January 4 has been named "Kirby Minter Day" in the city of Durant.A 6'6" forward who played collegiately at
Southeastern Oklahoma State University .As a member of a Peoria Caterpillars AAU team which comprised of the Caterpillar company's employees, he represented the
United States men's national basketball team [ [http://www.usabasketball.com/history/mwc_1954.html] ] to the1954 FIBA World Championship and named Most Valuable Player of the competition.
