Larry Forgy

Larry Forgy is a Republican politician and former candidate for office from Lexington, Kentucky.

Forgy ran for Governor of Kentucky in 1991, losing in the Republican primary to Larry Hopkins. Forgy again ran for Governor of Kentucky in 1995, losing [http://www.kdla.ky.gov/resources/KYGovernors_pg7.htm 500,787 (51.1%) to 479,227 (48.9%)] to Paul E. Patton. Forgy later ran an unsuccessful race for the Kentucky Supreme Court, losing to James E. Keller in a special election in 1999. He was reportedly considering running in the United States Senate election in Kentucky, 2008‎ [cite news|publisher=Herald-Leader|date=2007-12-08|title=Democrats line up to face McConnell|author=Ryan Alessi|url=http://www.kentucky.com/news/state/story/252980.html reported the following: "Larry Forgy, a Lexington Republican, also is considering challenging McConnell as an independent."] , but he did not file as a candidate for the office.

Nunn

Forgy attended the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta social fraternity. He transfered to The George Washington University, where he received both a bachelor's and law degree. While in law school at GWU, he became friends with U.S. Sen.
