Maurice Lacroix-Trophy

The Maurice Lacroix-Trophy is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany open to two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1,400 metres (approximately 7 furlongs) at Iffezheim Racecourse, Baden-Baden, and it takes place annually in late August or early September.

It was first run in 1859 as the Zukunfts-Rennen. The original distance of the race was 1,000 metres, which was increased to 1,200 metres in 1883. It was run at Hoppegarten in 1942 and 1943, but aside from cancellations it has otherwise continually taken place at Baden-Baden.

From 1982 the race held Group 2 status and was sponsored by Moët & Chandon. The Moët & Chandon-Rennen was followed in 1997 by the Raab Karcher Baustoffe-Cup, and the present title was introduced in 2000 when Maurice Lacroix took sponsorship. The distance was extended to 1,400 metres in 2006, and the race was downgraded to Group 3 class in 2007.
