Sony PlayStation Portable handheld gaming system. It was released in2007 at thePlayStation Store at an initial retail value of five dollars.Description
In addition to downloading music from the Internet, users may use their own music to play in "Beats".
Notes are identified by the four keys on the PSP: circle, "x", square, and triangle. They are generated based on the rhythm of the music. Tracks with greater emphasis on background music, especially
techno songs with a defined rhythm. While often occurring on the beat, notes can occur off the beat or on other times. In the center of the screen are three anchors (just one in Novice mode). Notes appear from the sides of the screen and approach these anchors in rhythm. The player's responsibility is to hit the buttons corresponding to the labels on the notes when the notes reach the anchors.
Point multipliers are awarded for successive correct inputs.
Release and reception
IGN gave the game a score of 7.0, and were impressed by the "sheer number of visualizations" on offer, but noted that despite the ability to import the player's own music, "the first five minutes of the game are just about the same as the next five hours".
