"Solariella textilis" is a small deepwater sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Trochidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand.

Habitat

This deepwater top shell lives at depths of between 135 and 550 m.

hell description

The shell is small, conoidal, widely umbilicate, crisply sculptured with rounded cords, overridden by numerous thin, sharply raised radials, delicately gemmate at points of intersection. The outer edge of the umbilicus is margined by a prominent beaded cord, while the rest of the base has very weak gemmate spirals.

The external shell coloration is greyish-white.

The shell height is up to 5 mm, and the width is up to 5 mm.
