Stacy London (born May 25, 1969) is a media personality, known for her role as a co-host on the makeover reality program "What Not to Wear", which broadcasts on TLC in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Canada, and on People+Arts in Spain and Portugal, where it is named "¡No te lo pongas!" and "Esquadrão da Moda", respectively.

Biography

Early life

London was born in New York City, New York, of Jewish descent on her father's side and of Sicilian descent on her mother's. Her mother, Joy, worked as a venture capitalist, and her father, Herbert London, is the president of the conservative Hudson Institute. Career

London began her career in the fashion industry as a fashion assistant at "Vogue" magazine and later returned to Conde Nast as the senior fashion editor at "Mademoiselle". She has styled fashion photos for other editorial publications, including Italian "D", "Nylon", and "Contents". London has worked with a number of celebrities including Kate Winslet and Liv Tyler, as well as on fashion shows for designers such as Rebecca Taylor, Ghost, and Vivienne Tam.

Since 2003, London has worked on numerous advertising campaigns. Her client roster includes Hanes, Wonderbra, Bali, Procter & Gamble, Covergirl, Suave, Target, Levi Strauss & Co., Maytag, Swatch USA, Longines and Calvin Klein. She can also be seen in recent Macy's commercials. She was also a spokesperson for Fresca.

London co-hosts "What Not to Wear" with Clinton Kelly. She also has a love for high-heeled shoes, owning over 300 pairs. She has been reported to have dated Doug Wilson, one of the designers on "Trading Spaces". Stacy London often shouts "Shut up!" to express her approval when the guests of "What Not to Wear" appear at the end of the program to reveal the results of their makeover. In a "Best of 2005" look-back show, Clinton Kelly teased London by saying "...there are almost as many great moments as there are high heels in Stacy's wardrobe." In September 2005, London and Kelly co-wrote a book entitled "Dress Your Best: The Complete Guide to Finding the Style That's Right for Your Body". London appeared on Oprah's "Jean Intervention" episode in November 2005. In addition to hosting What Not to Wear, she also served as the host of her own talk shows, "Shut Up! It's Stacy London!" and "Fashionably Late with Stacy London". She also has done some reporting for Access Hollywood.
