Garden Spot Village is a licensed, non-profit, faith-based continuing care retirement community located at 433 South Kinzer Avenue in New Holland, Pennsylvania.(1) The facility is operated by Garden Spot Village, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation,(2) and it provides a range of residential options and health-care services for adults ages 62 and above.
History
Two Christian businessmen from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Victor F. Weaver and Ivan Martin, incorporated Garden Spot Village as a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community on July 26, 1990.(3) The first residents moved to Garden Spot Village in 1996.

assisted living apartments, skilled care units and memory loss/Alzheimer’s units as well as adult day services.(1)As of late 2007, Garden Spot Village was home to approximately 850 residents. Minimum age for residence is 62. Residents select a lifestyle package ranging from $79,963 to $360,000(1) and pay a monthly service fee. The monthly fee includes an apartment or attached house ranging in size from convert|560|sqft|m2 to convert|2000|sqft|m2, as well as all utilities, with the exception of telephone, cable television and high-speed Internet access. It also includes dining discounts as well as other services, such as lawn care and landscaping, snow and trash removal and many activities. Amenities include a technology lab, horticulture center, bank, convenience store, hair salon, indoor and outdoor parks, a pavilion/amphitheater, walking and bike paths, putting greens, pickle ball courts, a bocce ball court, vegetable gardens, a fitness center with a heated indoor pool and whirlpool spa, and a variety of social clubs. Other services, such as laundry, housekeeping and handyman, are available for a fee. Garden Spot Village is the largest employer in New Holland. The community employs approximately 340 staff members, including hospitality, maintenance, administrative and skilled nursing staff.
A continuing care retirement community is designed to provide services throughout a mature adult’s life. Garden Spot Village offers on-campus health-care services, including assisted living, memory support, adult day services and personal at-home services. It was certified as a nursing home on October 19, 2001 and has 73 Medicare-certified skilled nursing beds.(2) Ephrata Community Hospital maintains an outpatient center, the Center for Health at Garden Spot Village, on campus.(4) Health-care services available there include internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, rehabilitation medicine, cardiology testing, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.
