The shell of this subspecies is smaller and more solid than "
Calliostoma tigris tigris ", and has coarser granulose sculpture.The coloration pattern differs from "Calliostoma tigris tigris" in that the reddish-brown stripes are very broad, greatly reducing the area of whitish ground colour between them.
The shell height is up to 55 mm, and the width is up to 53 mm.
