- Anatoly Slivko
Anatoly Slivko was a Soviet
serial killer who was convicted and executed for the murders of seven boys between 1973 and 1985. OnNovember 14 ,1973 a 14-year-old boy disappeared inNevinnomyssk , southernRSFSR . In winter 1975, a prison inmate claimed he knew where the boy was buried, but the police searched the area and found nothing, proving the claim was false. OnMay 11 ,1975 an 11-year-old boy named Andrei disappeared. A police searched ensued, but the boy was not found. The boy's mother told the police that a man had made some video recordings in a nearby forest and that her son was going to participate, but the police didn't do anything to prevent this because they knew the man and he had won awards for some of his videos. The man's name was Anatoly Slivko and he had a club for boys named Chergid. Two more boys disappeared, one in 1980 and another in 1985. Years later, aprosecutor named Tamara Languyeva took an interest in the club's activities; however, she had no evidence that there was anything illegal in the way the club was run. The prosecutor interrogated many boys who had been to the club and they said they had suffered “temporary amnesia” and that Slivko had practiced many experiments with them.Following a long inquiry, Anatoly Slivko was arrested and accused of seven murders, seven counts of
sexual abuse andnecrophilia . In 1989 he was sentenced to death. After his arrest he confessed where the missing boys had been buried. In 1990 he worked with the police to arrest another serial killerAndrei Chikatilo who had killed 53 children and women. Only a few hours after he was interviewed by the police, Anatoly Slivko was executed.
