Sarugamori Sand Dunes

The nihongo|Sarugamori Sand Dunes|猿ヶ森砂丘|Sarugamori Sakyū are Japan's largest sand dune, also known for its singing sand. It is located to the east of the village of Higashidōri, Aomori, facing the Pacific Ocean. Large parts of the sand dunes are used for military training by Japan's Ministry of Defense, and generally off-limits to tourists.
