Nova Scotia ,Canada , the son of Thomas Underwood McColough and the former Sabina Alexandrine Victoire-Clare-Hélène Devanney. His father was a member of theBritish Parliament , while his mother was the daughter of a formerGovernor ofNepal , George Armstrong LouisMountbatten Devanney (ofEngland ). McColough was also a descendant ofGodfrey McCulloch ,Sir Walter Scott , and of theHouse of Stuart .McColough was married to the former Margaret Maude Glendenning (
1863 -1966 ), daughter of Charles Walker Glendenning, a BritishBaron who descended from theHouse of Windsor , and his wife, the former Eleanor Mary Alexandra Beckett. McColough was commonly called upon as a major donor to the
