Tallahassee Mall is a regional shopping mall located at the intersection of North Monroe Street and John Knox Road in Tallahassee, Florida. It is the older of two enclosed malls in the Tallahassee area, the other being Governor's Square.

The mall's anchor stores include AMC Theatres, Belk, and Burlington Coat Factory. In addition, Tallahassee Mall features several big box stores, including Barnes & Noble, , Guitar Center, Ross Dress For Less, Shoe Carnival, and The Sports Authority.

History

*1971: Tallahassee Mall opens with three major anchor stores: Woolco, Gayfers and Montgomery Ward.

*1983: Woolco closes the last of its United States operations. Their store at Tallahassee Mall is soon subleased to Zayre.

*1990: Zayre is purchased by Ames, with all Zayre stores being rebranded as Ames.

*June 1995: Mall occupancy is at forty-five percent.

*1998: Gayfers is acquired by Dillard's.

*1999: Service Merchandise closes the last of its stores nationwide.

*Early 2000s: Montgomery Ward closes the last of its stores nationwide. The former Montgomery Ward space is divided among Burlington Coat Factory and smaller stores, while the vacant Service Merchandise is replaced with Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Carnival. Oshman's Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, and Guitar Center all open as well.

*August 2007: Belk acquires the Parisian chain, converting the Tallahassee Mall and several others to the Belk name. Dillard's also announces that its store in Tallahassee Mall will be closed in early 2008.
