World Communication Awards

World Communication Awards

The World Communication Awards were established in 1999 and recognise excellence amongst global telecom operators. The most recent awards were presented in London on the 28th November 2007 and drew and audience of more than 500 senior telecom execs.

Previous winners have come from every continent, and this year included Bharti Airtel, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, BT Group, Orange and on a personal level EU Commissioner Viviane Reding.

The World Communication Awards are organised by Total Telecom and their owners Terrapinn.

2008 will be the 10th years of the World Communication Awards. 15 categories are to be presented with full information given on the website www.worldcommsawards.com

Chairman of the judges is David Molony former editor in chief of [Total Telecom] www.totaltele.com and now an analyst at consultants Ovum.

Over the years the WCA have become more wide ranging and international with 2007 winners including Bharti Airtel, Minick, BT, NTT Comm, SpinVox, Afsat, Orange, ip.access, Botswana Telecom TeliaSonera, and Vivian Reding.
