Mariya Krywaniuk (born May 15, 1977), soprano, is a native of Vancouver, Canada. She received her Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music [http://www.msmnyc.edu/] . Mariya was a finalist and award winner of the Altamurro/Caruso International Voice Competition. In 2003, Mariya was a New York District winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and a prize winner in the Gerda Lissner Competition. In the spring of 2006, Mariya was heard as Marguerite in Amato Opera's production of "Faust".

She was awarded the role of Mother in the "Lost Childhood" premiere in Tel Aviv, Israel, July 2007, through AOP (American Opera Project). "Lost Childhood" is a three-act, full-length opera composed by Janice Hamer, a Philadelphia composer, with a libretto by Baltimore poet Mary Azrael, based on the memoirs of Yehuda Nir [http://www.operaprojects.org/pressphotos_LC.htm] .
