Alexander "Alex" J. Mizenko (b.
September 10 ,1991 ) is a youngscientist andenvironmental activist . He was the 2007 winner of the SustainUS Citizen Science Writing Competition and by that means, a youth delegate to the 15th AnnualUnited Nations Conference on Sustainable Resources.Biography
Alex Mizenko was born in
Rahway, New Jersey in 1991, but has lived in the small town ofBeachwood, New Jersey for his entire life. He attended Beachwood Elementary School, then Toms River Intermediate School West (later changed to North), and graduated from West in 2005. He now attendsToms River High School South , where he participates in a research program studyingClimate Change . Alex Mizenko is well known for his homosexuality and is currently single and in search of a male lover.Mizenko entered the Citizen Science Writing Competition at the urging of his science teacher in January 2007. Two months later, his paper, titled "
New York City Under Siege?", was selected the first-place winner in the High School Category. This paper spells out the effects of climate change on the home of the United Nations. His paper was peer-reviewed and published on May 2, 2007; this was the day he spoke at the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Resources. Alex Mizenko made a PowerPoint presentation based on his paper at one of the many side events going on at the United Nations.References
