National Association for Music Education

MENC: The National Association for Music Education, formerly called Music Educators National Conference (MENC), is an organization based out of Reston, Virginia which is focused on the advancement of music education, both as a profession and the assurance of music education as part of the core curriculum across the United States. They are also the creators of The National Anthem Project. MENC has more than 130,000 members including active and retired music teachers, college students studying to become teachers, high school music honor society members, suppliers of music education products and services, and community supporters of school music programs. MENC's mission is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all.

MENC was founded in 1907 as the Music Supervisors National Conference.
