- Carlos Carrascosa
Carlos Alberto Carrascosa is an Argentine
businessman who was accused of the murder of his wife María Marta García Belsunce onOctober 27 ,2002 in "El Carmel Country", a privateneighborhood inPilar, Buenos Aires . OnOctober 27 ,2002 María Marta was found dead in her bathroom. Apparently, she had fallen in the shower and her head hit on the faucets. Later, Carrascosa went to the house and ordered theservant to wash the bathroom and remove the blood stains before the police entered the house. This may have destroyed evidence about the apparent accident. When the police arrived at the house, Horacio García Belsunce (later accused ofconcealment ) requested via his friend the Inspector that the police stay outside, as Carrascosa was disconsolate. On
December 2 ,2002 , Carrascosa directed María Marta's body be cremated, but theProsecutor requested anautopsy of the body. The autopsy determined that the body had five gunshot wounds to the head and that the holes had been covered withglue . Carrascosa became the principal suspect for the murder because he was the first person that went to the house and he ordered the servant to wash the bathroom. Carrascosa was arrested and accused ofmurder but evidence against Carrascosa was poor, so he was released. In2003 ,2004 ,2005 and2006 Carrascosa was arrested and released many times and finally onFebruary 20 ,2007 Carrascosa was placed underhouse arrest and tried formurder .
