"Anchitheriomys" is an extinct member of the beaver family, Castoridae. Until recently, it was placed in a closely related family of rodents, Eutypomyidae (e.g., Harvnb |McKenna|Bell|1997| p=129), but Harvtxt |Korth|Emry|1997| have since described a partial skull that shows similarities to another early beaver, "Agnotocastor".
