- Goldene Peitsche
The Goldene Peitsche is a Group 2 flat horse race in
Germany open tothoroughbred s which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 1,200 metres (approximately 6 furlongs) atIffezheim Racecourse ,Baden-Baden , and it takes place annually in late August or early September.It was first run in 1867 at
Tempelhof , and it then moved toHoppegarten the following year. With the exception of the period from 1918 to 1922, when it was run atGrunewald , the race remained at Hoppegarten until 1944. It first took place at its present venue in 1953, and it was given Group 3 status in 1972. It was promoted to Group 2 in 1991.Winners since 1988
