- Dreamscape (art installation)
Dreamscape was the name of an inflatable work of art, up to 5m tall, and about half the size of a football field, created by international artist
Maurice Agis . It was constructed of coloured, translucent sections ofPVC melded together to create a maze of coloured tunnels that a person could walk through. Participants would be encouraged to wear coloured 'capes' as they went into the art installation. On 23 July 2006, the sculptures tenth anniversary, it was reported that the structure, at that time situated in Riverside Park,Chester-le-Street ,Durham ,England , had broken it's mooring ropes and been lifted up to 30ft from the ground by the wind. A 38-year-old woman from the town and a 68-year-old woman from Seaham died during the incident. At least 12 other people were injured.External links
