Joan Antidea Thouret (in French Jeanne Antide) was a
nun and asaint . She founded theSisters of Charity congregation.Biography
Joan Antidea was born in 1765. When she was 22 she joined the
Daughters of Charity ofSaint Vincent de Paul inParis but duringFrench Revolution she spent an exile inSwiss andGermany .In 1797 she returned in
France where she founded a school only for poor girls. In 1799 she founded a new congregation: theSisters of Charity supported byLetizia Ramolino ,Napoleone 's mother.In 1819 her insitute was approved by
Pius VII who gave some canonic privileges to her convents.She died in
Naples in "Regina Coeli" monasterium in 1826.
