Velnciems

Velnciems ("Devil's village") is one of the oldest districts of Liepāja, Latvia. Located near Lauma's district, at the east side of the city.

By legend it's named so by Peter The Great, then he visited Liepāja in 1697. [ [http://www.kurzemes-vards.lv/?doc=33183 Kurzemes Vārds, 18.08.2005] lv icon] Velnciems is built up mostly by private one or two store houses. In Velnciems also is located Liepāja Medical College.
