Fiesta Hotels is a Spanish hotel chain based out of Ibiza, Spain. It is currently comprised of four different brands, which include Fiesta Hotels, Palladium Resorts, Fresh Aparthotels, and Ayre Hotels. The chain operates in many countries, primarily in Spain and the Caribbean. Two new Grand Palladium Resort & Spas in Salvador de Bahía, Brazil, are also set to open in 2009.
History
The Matutes family created the Fiesta Hotel Group in the 1960s with two hotels in
Ibiza, Spain . Throughout the 1970s the chain expanded, adding more hotels in Ibiza, as well as inMinorca ,Spain andMajorca , Spain. In the 1980s the chain expanded to theCanary Islands . During the 1990s they focused on the Caribbean, and opened several resorts in the area while also strengthening their presence in Spain. The 2000s have also been a period of strong expansion, as the Fiesta Hotel Group opened several resorts in Mexico and has several projects in the works. In 2008, the Fiesta Hotel Group welcomed a new CEO of the company, Abel Matutes Prats, who has implemented an ambitious strategic plan that expects to grow the group's brands in some of the world's most sought after destinations.External links
