Vicary Gibbs (MP)

The Hon. Vicary Gibbs (12 May 1853-13 January 1932), was a British barrister, merchant and Conservative politician.

Gibbs was the third son of Hucks Gibbs, 1st Baron Aldenham, and his wife Louisa Anne, daughter of William Adams. Alban Gibbs, 2nd Baron Aldenham, and Herbert Gibbs, 1st Baron Hunsdon, were his brothers, while George Cokayne was his great-uncle. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, and later worked as a barrister and merchant. In 1892 he was returned to Parliament for St Albans, a seat he held until 1904. He was also a Justice of the Peace and co-author of the second edition of "The Complete Peerage" published in 1911.

Gibbs died in January 1932, aged 78. He never married.
