Eldon "Pat" Pattyson Black (October 1925 – November 1999) was a former
Canadian diplomat . He was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to theHoly See . He also worked inforeign intelligence as a Department of External AffairsForeign Service Officer.He authored the book Direct Intervention: Canada-France Relations, 1967-1974 (ISBN 0886292891).
