The "jólabókaflóð" (Icelandic for "christmas book flood") is the annual flood of new books in
Iceland occurring in the months beforechristmas every year. Its name refers to the fact that new books are generally published only during the christmas season in Iceland.Newly-published books are listed in a yearly compilation called "bókatíðindi" ("book news") that is distributed to all households for free; the total number of new books published in
