He held the position of Dean of Studies of the former TVB School of Habitat Studies in New Delhi since 1996. The practice has executed projects for educational research institutions in
India and specializes in low energy sustainablearchitecture . He is engaged in the development of the architectural curricula for the Indian context and contributes regularly to national professional journals for architecture.The firm Ashok B Lall Architects has won a number of awards for architecture and international competitions. Three of the firm’s projects have been nominated for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The practice has executed projects for educational research institutions in many parts of India, and specializes in low-energy sustainable architecture. Works include the Master Plan and Tissue Culture Pilot Plant for TATA Energy Research Institute Campus, Guragaon; the Master Plan and Campus Development for the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur; and the Transport Corporation of India Headquarters, New Delhi.
Ashok B Lall studied architecture and fine arts at the University of Cambridge, UK and then undertook further study at the Architectural Association, London, including the Department of Tropical Studies.
He is actively engaged in the development of the architectural curricula for the Indian context, and contributes regularly to national professional journals in architecture. In addition to membership of various professional bodies, he is a Member of the Academic Council (Architecture), Jodhpur University; and a Member of the Committee for PhD Studies, School of Planning and Architecture.
