Ettore Campogalliani (
30 September 1903 –3 June 1992 ) was an Italian composer, musician and teacher.Campogalliani studied piano in 1921, graduating from the Conservatory of
Bologna , he then studied composition at the Conservatory ofParma in 1933, and finally studied singing at the Conservatory ofPiacenza in 1940.After a short period of activity as a composer (including writing music for the 1942 film "Musica proibita" directed by
Carlo Campogalliani ), [ [http://imdb.com/title/tt0035099/fullcredits "Musica proibita" entry on IMDb] ] and as a pianist, he dedicated himself to teaching. He taught piano at the Liceo Musicale ofPiacenza and singing at the conservatories of Parma andMilan . He then went on to coach vocal technique and interpretation at the opera school ofLa Scala in Milan.Campogalliani was the voice teacher of
Renata Tebaldi ,Renata Scotto ,Mirella Freni ,Ruggero Raimondi ,Luciano Pavarotti , andAntonio Carangelo .In 1946, to honour his father Francesco, Ettore Campogalliani founded the "Accademia Teatrale Francesco Campogalliani", a theatre and drama academy.
