input ="Awesome Possum" (full title: Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt) is a video game created by Tengen for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis that was released in the early 1990s. The game borrows heavily from "Sonic the Hedgehog", featuring an anthropomorphic character who battles a mad scientist and his army of robots to save the world, and has the ability to spin to attack enemies.
Unlike Sonic, "Awesome Possum" includes environmental activist elements, with the character collecting empty bottles and cans instead of rings, and answering questions about the environment to earn bonus points in his fight against the evil Dr. Machino. The game is also repetitive, using the same basic environment for each level.
It was notable for its time for having many lines of digitized speech, a feature which the game was marketed with.
