Immaculate Conception Apostolic School is a private, Roman Catholic minor-seminary located in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. It is within the territory administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester.
Background
Immaculate Conception Apostolic School is administered by the Legionaries of Christ, a religious congregation of the Roman Catholic Church, and is located near the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The school is for young men considering the vocation to the Catholic priesthood. Not all students may go on to a major seminary after graduation. Students receive a high education and are expected to cultivate a deeply virtuous and Christian life. The Holy Mass, the Rosary, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Gospel reflections and meditations are prayed daily, led by priests and brothers of the Legionaries of Christ. Athletic activities include basketball, soccer, flag football, capture the flag, sledding, hiking, and snowball wars. Approximately 80 students attend the school in grades 7-12.
The Legionaries of Christ are considered to be one of the fastest growing priesthood vocation programs in the world. It was founded by Father Maciel Macial in 1941. There are other Legionary schools in Cornwall, Ontario; Colfax, California; Rolling Prairie, Indiana; and seminaries in Thornwood, New York, and Cheshire, Connecticut. A university is being built in Sacramento, California, and another school is on schedule to be built in Texas.
