Arthur Vivian

Sir Arthur Pendarves Vivian KCB (4 June 1834-18 August 1926), was a British Liberal politician.

Vivian was the son of the industrialist John Henry Vivian and his wife Sarah, daughter of Arthur Jones. Henry Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea, was his elder brother and Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Vivian, his uncle. He was elected to the House of Commons as one of two representatives for Cornwall West in 1868, a seat he held until 1885, when the constituency was abolished.

Vivian married firstly Lady Augusta Emily, daughter of Edwin Wyndham-Quin, 3rd Earl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl, in 1867. After her death in 1877 he married secondly Lady Jane Georgina, daughter of John Dalrymple, 10th Earl of Stair, in 1880. There were children from both marriages. His second wife died in June 1914. Vivian survived her by twelve years and died in August 1926, aged 92.
