Pattuvam

Pattuvam is a village in Kannur district, Kerala, India. It has an area of 32 square kilometers and a population of 20000 approx.

Surrounded with rivers on all sides except the east where it shares a boundary with the Thaliparamba municipality, Pattuvam is blessed with rich biodiversity thanks to its hills, rivers etc. Pattuvam created history a decade ago when it used its autonomy to assert its sole right to the local biodiversity.

The Panchayat consists of mini-villages like Mangalasseri, Muthukuda, kavungal, Pattuvam, Muriyathode, Mullool, Ariyil, Parappool, Vellikkeel etc. The Panchayat is presently ruled by the left front led by President Mr. Kumaran. With a predominantly agriculture oriented population, Pattuvam is home to many eminent personalities too.
