Vicente Acero was a 16th century Spanish architect born in Seville in 1540. He was the original architect of the
Cádiz cathedral, constructed between 1716 and 1838. He also contributed to the complex of the monastery ofSanta Maria de El Paular nearMadrid . Vicente Acero was a member of the prominent conquering Arab family, first arriving in Spain after the Muslim conquest in 711. He studied at theUniversity of Salamanca , theUniversity of Murcia and theUniversity of Al-Karaouine .during the course of his life, Acero spent his time doing projects for the court of
Spain , and was rumored to have been one of the master shipbuilders of the greatSpanish Armada that failed to land on the shores of England in 1588.Acero had complete multiple great cathedrals throughout Spain and
