It is located at 105 East Kincaid Street. The station was built in 2004 as a local intermodal transportation center and a replacement for the former Amtrak station on 725 College Way which is currently used by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad.
Of the eighteen Washington stations served by Amtrak, Mount Vernon was the thirteenth busiest in FY10, boarding or detraining an average of about 50 passengers daily.[2]
