Tiger Academy

Ascension Parish ordered all schools to start a Freshman Academy where all 9th graders are separated from 10th-12th graders so that freshman can have a transition from middle school to high school. Out of the four high schools in Ascension Parish, Donaldsonville High is the only one to have 7th-12th grade students attending whereas high schools commonly have 9th-12th grade only. In order to observe the middle school students at the high school, the name was changed to Tiger Academy and 7th-9th grade students were a part of it. Also two Associate Principals were hired. Amanda Mayeaux was principal over 7th-9th grade and Marilyn Washington was principal over 10th-12th grade.
