Early life

Was born in 1921 the only son of Wykeham Stanley Cornwallis and Cecily Etha Mary (née Walker).Had one sister. [His Siblings were :-

] and was educated at Eton College . [

Succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Cornwallis in 1982.

Family life

Married twice. Firstly to Judith Lacy (née Scott), daughter of Lt.-Col. Geffrey Lacy Scott, On 17 October 1942 and had two children [Children from first marriage were:-
* Anne Judy Cornwallis 13 November 1943 – 26 June 1966
* Hon. Fiennes Wykeham Jeremy Cornwallis b. 25 May 1946
] , divorced in 1948.
Then, to Agnes Jean Russell (née Landale), daughter of Captain Henderson Russell Landale, on 1 June 1951 and have four children.

* Patrick Wykeham David Cornwallis b. 28 May 1952
* Cecily Mary Clare McCulloch (née Cornwallis) b. 23 October 1954

Military career

During WWII, served with the Coldstream Guards between 1940 – 1944.

Freemasonry

As a Freemason, was Pro Grand Master of The United Grand Lodge of England.
